Afghanistan
Vaccination Advice
Mandatory
Vaccinations protect you against infectious diseases that are prevalent in Afghanistan. Make an appointment for personalised travel advice at vaccinatiecentrum.nl.
The following vaccinations are recommended when travelling to Afghanistan:
DTP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio), Hepatitis A (infectious jaundice), Typhoid fever, Measles, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Dengue and Tuberculosis.
Some of these vaccinations are always advised, regardless of the length of your stay in Afghanistan. This is Hepatitis A. The other vaccination recommendations depend on your health situation, living conditions, length of stay, the areas you visit and the activities you undertake in Afghanistan.
Polio
For travellers staying in Afghanistan for more than four weeks, the last polio vaccination must have been given less than 12 months ago at the time you leave Afghanistan.
Malaria
Malaria is prevalent in Afghanistan. If you are staying in an area where malaria is prevalent, we sometimes recommend the use of malaria medication. Furthermore, it is important to take protective measures against malaria.
